Better Healthcare are now recruiting on behalf of a large care organisation for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to practice in a private hospital near to Wyboston which is near St Neots on the Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire border.

Job Description
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Role: permanent - 37.5 hours contract
Location: Wyboston
To provide a qualified psychology input to the MDT and patients.
Providing highly specialist psychological assessments and therapy and offering advice and consultation on patients psychological care to non-psychology colleagues.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Department`s policies and procedures.
Accountable to: Hospital director
Responsible for: Clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists and Doctoral trainees

Experience and Qualifications
British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited degree in psychology, or completion of an approved conversion course
Graduate Membership of the BPS
A doctorate in clinical psychology
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
Minimum of 12 months experience as a Clinical Psychologist in a hospital setting

Responsibilities
To provide specialist psychological assessments of patients admitted to Lakeside based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with patients, family members, outside agency; and others involved in the patients care.
To formulate and implement care plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a patients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of their problems, and employing therapeutic methods based on evidence.
To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions, individually and in group settings, adjusting and refining psychological formulations while drawing upon different theoretical models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual.
To demonstrate outcome of treatment using appropriate outcome measures and to be able to adapt treatment according to patients mental state and motivational level in order to optimise outcomes within the framework of the department`s agreed treatment protocols.
To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to patients formulation and treatment plan.
To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all patients, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual patients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management. To ensure that all risk assessments are completed within the required timeframes.
To provide a CPA report for each patient in their designated ward area within the agreed framework and timescales of the psychology department.
